Composition created during a one-week residency in the Na Bolom museum in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, which had the courtesy of giving us access to their recordings of local music and interviews.

Musical landscape merging the cultures of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan during the day of the carnival. In San Juan Chamula, it is the moment of the monos (“monkeys”) procession. Their behaviour is animated and defying. They mock the crowd while sweeping across the streets of the village.

The works by Apolatl evoke, in a contemporary manner, the profusion of cultural blendings, while developing a brand new form of sound/visual anthropology.
